Xiaomi denied a rumor of hiring Huawei Mobile Device and Smart Car Business Unit CEO, Yu Chengdong and his involvement in future Xiaomi Auto.

The entire rumor is based on the recent statements made by Yu Chengdong and Huawei Founder, Ren Zhengfei. To understand, we need to recall Huawei’s official resolution on “No Building Cars”. The company gave this resolution to bust all of the related rumors.

That’s not it, Huawei’s top management including the founder strictly ordered the Smart Car BU to not put the Huawei logo on the car design.

Ren Zhengfei said that “HUAWEI” cannot be used in vehicle promotion and design. He also mentioned that words such as “HUAWEI Wenjie” and “HUAWEI AITO” cannot be used for publicity or promotion.
