Will Huawei Mate 70 series have a sudden launch or grand-scale event?
Huawei confirmed to introduce its ‘powerful’ Mate 70 series this month but whether will it be through a sudden launch or a grand-scale event is still a mystery to resolve. The company could change its ‘discrete’ release strategy with the new lineup.
The ‘sudden launch’ chapter began with the Mate 60 Pro last year. Huawei shocked everyone by unveiling the respective device without any teaser or advertisement.
Over the past decade, the company has been releasing its devices (flagship phones, tablets, and premium products) through a striking event. But the case was just the opposite with the Mate 60 Pro that came out of nowhere and began instant sales.
Huawei named this strategy “Pioneer Program”. The respective activity is a blessing as it allows users to experience the new flagship in advance. In simple words, a large customer base can purchase the device and explore it before a full-fledged sale.
Some netizens claimed that the company opted for this strategy due to U.S. sanctions. Huawei might have wanted to maintain the secrecy of its new chip before the official unveiling, protecting itself from scrutiny by the U.S. authorities.
After the Mate 60 Pro, the company used the Pioneer Program for the Pura 70 series. It was clear that Huawei will continue the scheme of discrete launches for flagship smartphones while unveiling the Nova and flip-flop models under a grand event.
Will the Mate 70 series get a discrete launch?
Many of us would have expected the same “Pioneer Program” treatment for the Mate 70 series. But a recent statement by Huawei’s executive hints that things may change.
Yu Chengdong recently announced that Huawei will unveil the new Luxeed S7 model alongside the Mate 70 series. The smart car has even reached a few stores for exhibition purposes and will go official in the upcoming days.
“…HarmonyOS Smart #Luxeed S7# is indeed coming! It will be released together with the most powerful Mate in history, I can only reveal this much!” – said Yu Chengdong.
Launching a car model beside the flagship phone lineup isn’t a new thing for Huawei. But the word “together” in the statement clues that the OEM could change its “sudden launch” strategy this time and unveil the Mate 70 series at a press conference.
It’s a new buzz about whether Huawei will hold a grand-scale event for the Mate 70 series or introduce it in a sudden launch. We still expect a discrete release on this matter. However, the Chinese tech giant could surprise its consumers in any manner.
A recent leak says that the new smartphone sales will begin in early December. That hints Huawei will launch Mate 70 models in late November. Only the official unveiling or a teaser will be able to clearly answer this question.
