WhatsApp is preparing a new theme feature that will enable users to pick the main color of the app. The feature has started rolling out to limited Android beta testers with the 2.24.18.6 testing version and soon be available to other app users.

The company has been testing new UI features for a long time. A major aim behind these capabilities is to enhance the app’s interactivity and make it more convenient.

As of now, WhatsApp is bringing a new theme feature with a significant change in the main color of the app. The standard color of the application is green. However, users might change this shade based on the two themes: light and dark in the app.

Inputs reveal that the light theme will replace the original green shade with the dark black color. It will offer a more enriched look with a simple and clear appearance.

Dark theme, on the other hand, will change the color to white. All the icons like chats, calls, updates, communities, and the top section of the app will appear in white. This will give a clearer look on the screen and further boost readability for users.

In the recent versions, these two themes are used to show icons and other elements in the app in a light green or slightly neon shade. But with the latest build, these items will appear in either white or black color, based on the theme you choose.
