WhatsApp to bring new business indicators for Android users

WhatsApp aims to enhance the chat application not only for regular users but also for business persons. In the latest edition, the company is bringing two new business indicators on WhatsApp for optimizing the business experience for users.

Found in the Android beta 2.24.18.7 version, WhatsApp is testing two business indicators. These additions will improve the interaction of business users with Meta.

The company has been working on features that can make Meta services more transparent and convenient for business consumers. Finally, one such feature is here.

According to the details, users will see two distinct indicators. The single arrow (>) refers that Meta might get some details (limited and non-confidential information about businesses). For instance, the number of interactions with a business.

A single arrow will show up automatically when users interact with an ad or link on Facebook or Instagram that will directly lead them to WhatsApp chat.

The next indicator is a double arrow (>>). Earlier, this symbol was used to show that Meta is improving AI services for specific businesses based on the messages it received. It will mainly appear when a business utilizes AI features from Meta for better responses to their clients.

It reads:

“When you interact with a business’s offers and announcements, WhatsApp’s parent company Meta receives limited info that may reduce spam, help businesses send you relevant messages, and improve Meta ads.”

WhatsApp aims to make business chats with Meta more transparent with these indicators. Users may further see these symbols inside the chats. Though the feature will remain limited, based on the business running on the app.

Users can still opt to remain away from such interactions with Meta. The feature is rolling out to beta testers but will soon reach general consumers via a stable release.
