WhatsApp is working on a new “event duration” feature for Community group chats. The latest capability is currently in the testing phase and rolling out to limited beta testers via the Google Play Beta Program.

Found in the Android beta 2.24.17.11 version, WhatsApp will soon allow admins and other group members to manage the event duration in the Community groups. This addition will make event management easier and more interactive than before.

As the term suggests, the new event duration feature will enable admins or other Community group members to set a time for starting or ending an event in the group.

Since the opening and closing times of the event are already known, group members would be able to manage their other activities in a better way.

This will further prevent confusion about an event’s timing. One would be able to prepare well in advance for the scheduled event, without canceling any other plans of the day. Also, the duration feature makes the event look more organized.

The new duration feature for WhatsApp Community group chats is open for an early experience to check its stability. After a complete inspection, the company will soon release this feature to general consumers via a stable update.
