WhatsApp to bring a redesigned interface for status updates tray
WhatsApp is giving a new makeover to the status updates interface, making it more intuitive and convenient for users. The company is also readying a vertical list of recommended channels so that you can have easy access to your favorite topic.
The new changes have appeared in WhatsApp Android beta 2.24.12.20 version. This update is rolling out gradually to some beta testers for the moment via the Google Play Beta Program. Although the company will soon avail it to general users as well.
Inputs reveal that WhatsApp is bringing a redesigned interface for the status updates tray. Users will now see the status in square frames rather than circular shapes.
The squarish frame ensures that you can have a glance at the status or just preview them through the large thumbnail. Hence you can check what your contacts have posted even without opening their status, maintaining the privacy aspect.
Another addition is the vertical list of recommended channels below the updates tab. The company has swapped the horizontal catalog with a new short vertical list with an “explore” tab. This change aims for ease of navigation and more efficiency.
Note that the latest improvements are still in the beta stage and could show some glitches at the initial point. Although WhatsApp will enhance these features to a greater extent in the coming days.
