WhatsApp to become more expressive with autoplay animation feature

WhatsApp seems to become more expressive in the coming days – thanks to the all-new autoplay animation feature. The capability is still in the beta stage and only available to a handful of testers. But it will soon make its way to the general public.

AutoPlay Animation refers to the automatic playing of GIFs, stickers, and avatars on the chat. While often you have to hit the ‘Play’ tab to see these tools animating, WhatsApp is now making this work more easier and interactive for its customers.

Digging into the WhatsApp Android beta 2.24.11.4 version, the company is rolling out a new option of autoplay animation in Settings > Chats > Chat Settings.

Here you will find an option named ‘Autoplay animated images’ which when enabled, automatically makes emojis, stickers, and avatars move in the chat as soon as you send or receive them. Thus you don’t have to put extra effort into animation.

Users will eventually get more control over the animation of stickers as well as avatars and then can even disable the activity at their convenience. All you have to do is, turn on the toggle of the respective option in the Chat Settings as per your needs.

It is worth mentioning that the feature will work efficiently but only for the sticker, emojis, and avatar. There is no role for GIFs in this segment at the moment. Although things could change with the upcoming updates for the chat application.

WhatsApp is rolling out the new autoplay animation feature via the Google Play Beta Program to a limited number of Android beta testers. But it will soon approach other consumers.
