WhatsApp testing new media reaction and reply shortcuts for Android
WhatsApp is working on some new additions like a media reaction feature and reply shortcuts to boost the interaction aspect. The latest changes are visible in a recent beta update, rolling out to a handful of users via the Google Play Beta Program.
Spotted in the WhatsApp Android beta 2.24.11.16 version, the company is testing the new media reaction capability and reply shortcuts for users. It will ultimately allow users to have an immediate response to certain messages in the conversation.

WhatsApp beta testers have found two significant shortcuts on the media viewer screen while exploring the received images, videos, and GIFs. The new additions enable users to either reply or simply react to the message directly from the viewer section without coming back to the chatting interface.
Thus you get a more convenient way to interact with messages without taking multiple steps for responding to a particular text or content. The latest feature is rolling out currently to some testers. But it won’t take much time to reach the general public.
