WhatsApp is once again giving a new makeover to the status updates section with useful tools. This time, the visual changes will appear in the status viewing area with a limited number of functions. What are these functions? Let’s find out.

The company is rolling out WhatsApp Android beta 2.24.15.11 version which brings new tools for status updates. The new build is available to some beta testers via the Google Play Beta Program. Although other users will soon get this feature on board.

Speaking of the new tools, WhatsApp limits the number of controls present in the status updates. Earlier, users might have access to a big list of functions. For instance, mute, message, voice call, video call, view contact, and report.

Although now users will only find certain features like Mute, Report, as well as View Contact in the overflow menu. The aim is to eliminate the unwanted controls from the section and keep it simple with the main tools like Report or View Contact.

Tapping on “View Contact” will automatically lead users to the chat info page of the person for additional actions (messaging or calling). Another addition is a new tab at the upper right corner of the status updates to dismiss the status.

Users can either tap on the cross button or simply swipe it down to cancel the view. The latest WhatsApp status interface changes appear minimalistic and less messy compared to previous versions. It may approach the non-beta users in the upcoming days.
