WhatsApp preps custom lists feature to filter important chats
WhatsApp is working on a new “custom lists” feature that will enable users to filter out important chats more easily. The feature is currently in the testing phase but it will soon approach the general application users through a stable update.
The company is rolling out a WhatsApp beta 2.24.18.16 version, which shows the presence of the custom lists feature. Android testers can download this new app update using the Google Play Beta Program.
A Lists feature has already been in testing. It allows users to add contacts and groups for better interaction. Now the company is bringing the custom lists feature.
Inputs reveal that whenever users create a list of people and groups, WhatsApp will form a new custom filter at the top of the chat list. This creation will help users to find a specific conversation or access it more easily than before.

Note that this filter will have the same name as the list user created for easy recognition. Users can further select the appropriate filter to view only the chats linked with a particular list and not every contact.
