WhatsApp preps a new AR feature to improve call effects and filters
WhatsApp has dispatched a new Android 2.24.13.14 beta update which brings a useful AR feature for call effects and filters. From the name, the latest addition will likely improve the overall calling experience as well as the sound quality of the app.
AR refers to Augmented Reality. WhatsApp is bringing this capability to its users by introducing some new AR call effects and filters. These new add-ons will ultimately boost the app experience and make it even more efficient for Android users.
Inputs reveal that the new AR call effects will enable users to make their calls more interesting. They can add some fun and interactive elements to their video calls in real-time.
Another impressive change is more control over personalization. Now one can customize their calls via dynamic facial filters. Adding these to your video calls will make your skin appear more glowy and smooth, which is not possible on ordinary calls.
This will further enhance the video quality even if you are in a dimly lit area. Users can even edit the background, making the video call more fun, or blur the distractions as per their preferences. You can also use it on desktop versions.
Avatar placement in real-time video feed could be another addition in this segment. These features are currently in the beta stage and will soon rollout to general consumers.
