WhatsApp is keenly focusing on Meta AI voice assistant features these days. In the latest development, the company is working on some new tools that will enable users to manage how the app’s built-in assistant responds to their queries.

The company is now rolling out the Android beta 2.24.17.3 version which brings features to manage WhatsApp Meta AI voice. For now, the build is only available to limited testers via the Google Play Beta Program. But it may go official in the coming weeks.

Meta AI voice can hear and answer your questions. However, users will soon be able to choose the way they want to interact with the chatbot. For instance, users can turn on the captions and transcription feature that will convert speech into text.

Captions and transcription is a helpful tool for those who suffer from hearing disabilities. Enabling the feature will show Meta AI responses in text so that you can read them instead of listening. But that’s not it. There’s more on the list.

Users can further option for a ‘Speech Output’ feature. This tool has three options: Full, Brief, and Off. The first one will let Meta provide detailed responses to your queries, especially the complex ones. Whereas, the second option will give short yet on-to-the-point answers, saving time and preventing boredom.

The final option will disable the voice feature and display responses in text mode. All these features are currently in the development stage. Though WhatsApp will soon open them for general consumers via a stable app update.
