WhatsApp hide ‘Online Status’ feature is coming

WhatsApp is working on a new feature called “who can see when I’m online”, it will help you hide your online status, whenever you open your WhatsApp account. This is quite a new and useful as well as requested feature for those who want to hide their activity on WhatsApp.

How does it work?

WhatsApp already comes with a feature named – Last Seen, which allows you to see the last time your contact has used WhatsApp or they were online. However, in the past, WhatsApp has already introduced the feature that would enable or disable your last seen from contacts or non-contact people.

Wabetainfo reveals that you can now, hide your last online status, which would allow you to hide your active session. In simple words, the word “online” won’t show to your contact during or until the time you close WhatsApp.

You can share your last online status with everyone or with the selected contact. The selected contact feature is based on the options that come under the last seen & online options. Still, you won’t be able to see other people’s last seen and online status until you don’t share yours.

This feature is coming on WhatsApp settings, under the Privacy section. From here you can choose the corresponding options.

Availability:

Just like other features, WhatsApp is currently testing the hide online status feature for Android devices under the beta channel but we can expect the company to bring it to public WhatsApp users soon.

Also, the picture shown above along with the features might change in a stable release.
