WhatsApp blue verification tick

WhatsApp is planning to turn its verification tick ‘Blue’. This change will make the verified badge appear like Facebook, Instagram, and other major apps by Meta. Instead of green, users will soon see a blue tick on their channels or business profiles.

The green tick on WhatsApp refers to a verified account badge. It appears next to a business name in WhatsApp. Users often go through an additional verification process to get this green tick for their business profiles or even Channels.

A similar feature is present for other Meta applications like Facebook, Instagram, and X. Although these apps have this verification badge in blue color.

It looks like WhatsApp will also paint its verification tick mark in blue color. Spotted in the Android 2.24.14.18 beta version, the company is replacing the green verification badge with a blue checkmark for all verified channels and business accounts.

The icon looks identical to what we see on Instagram or Facebook. It implies the authenticity of an account. Users can remain assured that they are communicating with a verified party, after seeing this blue tick beside the name at the top.

Blue tick mark ultimately aligns WhatsApp with other Meta apps. The feature is gradually rolling out, initially for beta testers. Although WhatsApp will soon bring it for more users via a stable release.
