WhatsApp is rolling out a new ‘status privacy confirmation’ feature to its Android beta testers. The useful capability is packed in the 2.24.12.27 version and is reaching a limited number of Android users via the Google Play Beta Program.

From the name, the WhatsApp status privacy confirmation feature allows users to manage their status updates more efficiently. With this feature, you can easily choose who can see your status and whom to hide it from.

When sharing an image, video, or other media content on the status, you will see a prompt asking if you want to share it with all the contact members or the specific ones. Tapping on the second option will let you select some contacts.

In this way, you can choose the audience for your status without making it completely public. This feature not only enhances the status-sharing experience but also adds an extra layer of privacy so you can feel shielded even with your own contacts.

Note that this feature is already present in the app settings. Although it will now show up just before sharing the status, so you can quickly shift between the group of status viewers. The feature is in the testing phase, but it will soon roll out for the general consumers.
