WhatsApp Android to bring Quick reaction feature for status
WhatsApp recently added the full emoji selection to the messages reaction feature of its app. Now a report shows that the world’s most popular instant messaging app is currently testing the ability to quick reactions to the status update.
The sudden exposure of messaging apps like Telegram and Instagram, WhatsApp forced us to add new features to the app at a rapid pace in the last year or so. In the meantime, the brand is working to enhance the story or the status menu.
Although, if you’re a user of Instagram then you might definitely experience the quick reaction feature over your loved stories. Might be inspired that WhatApp is also working to add such a feature.
By this, you can give your quick reaction your the status of your contact. Notably, the feature will be exclusive to Android users, and as it has already been spotted for Desktop beta and you can identify it via the 2.22.16.10 build version.
As shown in the image, WhatsApp is testing around 8 impressive emojis to use as a quick reaction on the status bar which includes:
- Smiling Face with Heart Eyes
- Face with Tears of Joy
- Face with Open Mouth
- Crying Face, Folded Hands
- Clapping Hands
- The Party Popper
- Hundred Points.
When you react to a status update, an emoticon is sent to the recipient and displayed as a status response within the chat. Although the feature is available for some selected beta testers.
