WhatsApp is releasing a new beta update for Android with the 2.24.10.8 build number that lets you easily manage the app’s storage via chat filters. The latest version is currently rolling out to a handful of testers through the Google Play Beta program.

Manage Chat Storage Filters – From the name, the new feature aims to help you with the storage management of the application. All you have to do is, filter out particular chats that take the maximum amount of space in the app.

Users will be able to filter the list of chats under the tags “All, Chats, and Channels”. Once filtered, you would be able to focus only on specific chats and contacts rather than those taking up space in the app and getting active after a long duration.

WhatsApp will further show either conversations or channels, enabling users to concentrate on specific content while managing the device as well as the app’s storage.

Hence users will be able to figure out which chats or conversations take the most space and can easily clean up the storage. Those with business accounts and similar channel names would get more benefits via the new WhatsApp ‘Manage Chat Storage Filters’ feature.

This also saves you from accidental deletion of critical information as you get a chance to initially go through the chats category and then the exact conversation.
