WhatsApp 2.23.12.20 gets ‘Notify Me’ for channel
WhatsApp 2.23.12.20 is testing a new Notify Me prompt feature for Android users who want to join a channel, which is not yet available for public users.
According to the information, WhatsApp has released this new feature to notify the user that a particular channel cannot be joined at the moment. This prompt indicates that WhatsApp users may have been trying to access the channel without getting a response from the app.
Specifically, the message appears when you try to open a channel using a URL (currently). In terms of UI, It has the channel icon, “Channel isn’t available for you yet, We can notify you when it’s ready“. The prompt also includes notify me and dismiss buttons.
Currently, the Notify Me option for a channel is only available for a limited audience with WhatsApp 2.23.12.20. However, you can join the beta test program via Google Play Store.
