Vodafone to launch 5G in UK using Huawei equipment
Huawei and Vodafone have been in the business friendship for a long time and the leading network provider has now confirmed the launch date of its 5G network using the Huawei’s network solutions.
Vodafone denies allegation of finding flaws in Huawei’s network equipment
According to BBC, Vodafone will kick off its 5G services in the UK on July 3 with the help of equipment provided by Huawei. The network’s initial rollout will begin in seven cities including London, Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Glasgow, Liverpool, and Manchester.
It’s also reported that Vodafone does not use Huawei’s kit in its core – the “brains” of its network, where tasks including billing and deciding how to route voice and data take place.
Moreover, Vodafone also uses 5G Ran kit purchased from Ericsson, so is not totally reliant on the Huawei, that may be used in the core parts.
While the 5G network is preparing to launch in the UK, Huawei has an upcoming launch of its Mate 20X 5G smartphone this month in the UK.
