Upcoming vertical foldable Huawei phone may not be a major upgrade

Huawei Pocket S2 is going to be the next release from the vertical foldable phone’s campaign and a new leak suggests that it won’t be a major upgrade over its predecessors. Perhaps, there would be slight changes in terms of display specs.

Weibo tipster @FixedFocus said that the upcoming Huawei foldable phone could be a modified version of the Pocket S and not a major upgrade. The overall design aesthetics would be identical to the previous flip-flop handset.

However, consumers may find changes in terms of the cover display. There might be an increase in the external screen’s size. In addition, we may see alterations in the display and internal parameters of the folding gadget with improved features.

Ironically, the tipster also said that it could be a 10000 yuan flagship phone which led users to think what would be the major implementation that will hype the price for a small folding phone to such an extent.

Display Upgrade:

As per some previous reports, the Huawei Pocket S2 is likely to bring a new customized high-frequency PWM dimming main display. Eventually, this might be a major upgrade in the small-screen folding phones department.

On the other hand, the phone is said to use a large cover display compared to the Pocket S device. Another interesting segment is that the device will hold a combination of two batteries: one on top while the other on the bottom as 1250mAh + 3170mAh = 4520mAh with 66W superfast charging.

Meanwhile, the foldable is testing the Kirin 9000s chipset and may feature two medium-sized cutouts as a camera framework and cover screen. Again, these circular arrangements are bigger than the Pocket S and occupy the top part of the phone.

Release Time?

The amazing flip-flop model was in rumors to show up at the December 2023 launch event. Although the company postponed the release due to some left-out work. Probably, we may see this offering in the first half of this year.
