These old Honor phones getting new EMUI update with network, app and security improvements
In the past week, Huawei rolled out a new software update for the legendary devices. However, there are some old Honor devices in the bag that are now also receiving the latest EMUI update.
Honor Play 8A, Honor 9i, Honor 9 Youth Edition, and Honor Play 7X are getting new EMUI versions. To be mentioned, these phones are from Chinese models but failed to make a place in the HarmonyOS upgrade device list.
However, phones are still getting new firmware upgrades with the latest improvements. In the newest edition, Honor phone users are getting the new Petal Light application along with February 2022 security patch.
Yes, the security patch is a bit outdated but it’s better that the company is installing a new EMUI update rather than doing nothing on these old Honor phones.

Honor Play 8A is getting EMUI 9.1.0.279 from EMUI 9.1.0.277.
Honor 9i:
- LLD-AL20
- LLD-AL30
EMUI 9.1.0.150 rolling out for this phone, upgrading from EMUI 9.1.0.148.
Honor 9 Youth Edition:
- LLD-AL00
- LLD-AL10
- LLD-TL10
Honor 9 Youth Edition getting EMUI 9.1.0.146 upgrading from 9.1.0.143.
Honor Play 7X:
- BND-AL00
- BND-AL10
- BND-TL10
This phone is upgrading from EMUI 9.1.0.146 to 9.1.0.151.

App:
- Added a quick download icon for the Petal Light Tour app, click it to download and use it directly (Note: If the “Automatically update apps” in the app market is set to “On” or “Only under WLAN”, it will be updated according to the network, adds Network conditions automatically download applications, no need to click).
Safety:
- Integrates security patches to enhance system security. For information about the security content of Huawei software updates.
