Huawei’s rotating Guo Ping recently held a discussion with its employees and released a discussion themed as “Don’t waste an opportunity during a crisis” and motivated them to stay positive to bring a new mobile ecosystem for the consumers.

During the discussion, Guo mentioned various topics including the U.S. restrictions on Huawei and facing the challenge in the overseas market to sell smartphones without Google Mobile Services (GMS).

Back in May, the U.S. commerce department added Huawei into the Entity List, which prohibits the company from doing business with U.S. firms. Following this announcement, Google also stopped certifying new Huawei products with GMS license. However, the Chinese tech giant can still access the open-source version of Android.

Post GMS halt, Huawei launched its own set of Mobile services called Huawei Mobile Services (HMS) and the Huawei Mate 30 series was the first Huawei flagship to launch with HMS instead of GMS.

Guo said, it’s a very difficult task for a mobile phone company to create an ecosystem but after last year, Huawei has achieved very good results that exceeded its expectation.

“The world is suffering for a long time and it’s looking forward to a new open system. We’ll definitely succeed” Guo said.

Huawei is set to hold the Huawei Developer Conference 2020 on September 10. At the event, Huawei will launch 7 new HMS Core kits types of services and more than 10 distribution platforms.

Currently, HMS incentive program covers over 1.6 million developers around the globe and cross-device services reaching across 700 million users.

The new 7 kits of HMS Core 5.0 are part of the keynote but we and most of the consumers also waiting for the new update of HarmonyOS and the latest EMUI version EMUI 11.
