Tencent is now removing its popular DnF (Dungeon & Fighter) game from several Chinese app stores including Huawei AppGallery. The app developer dropped a notice regarding this activity and recommended how users can still play this game.

DnF is a multiplayer action role-playing game. It is one of the most-played gaming apps in regions like South Korea and China and has 850 million+ players worldwide.

Although Tencent is now pulling off the DnF game app from Huawei AppGallery and other application stores like OPPO, Vivo, and Xiaomi due to expiration of contracts.

The company said that the DnF game will no longer be available on some Android platform app stores starting June 20. An alleged notice on this matter further states that mobile games on the mentioned app markets will stop updating.

Many vivo and Huawei users tried to search for this popular game on their device’s app store but didn’t find it. Tencent says that contracts with these firms expired within a month after the action video game launched in the market.

DnF Mobile team suggests that new users can still download the game via the official website. This will ultimately upgrade the app and allow users to play it efficiently.

Huawei and Tencent contract:

It is not the first time that Tencent has abandoned its games on the major app stores in China. Years back, the company removed its game apps from Huawei AppGallery as both parties were unable to renew their contract in the given period.

At that time, a few headlines stated that Huawei intentionally removed Tencent’s games due to revenue-sharing disputes. The Chinese phone maker wanted the latter to pay 50% for listing its apps on AppGallery but Tencent stuck to 30%.

But a friendly negotiation cleared the dispute and Tencent games took their place back in the AppGallery. Huawei is now considering a lower fee structure regarding in-app purchases, but it seems it won’t charge Tencent for WeChat this time.
