Telus to soon launch 5G services with Huawei in Canada, says CFO
Canadian telecom operator Telus will soon begin rolling out its 5G network and Huawei will be its starting equipment provider, says Doug French, Chief Financial Officer, reports Reuters.
“It’s important for us to launch our network when the time is right…” French said in a statement, adding that the company will continue to collaborate with the Canadian government in building the ecosystem.
Currently, the Canadian government is reviewing security measurements for the 5G network and yet to decide the participation of equipment vendors.
On the other hand, Telus has warned about the loss of higher investment if Huawei is barred from the 5G network.
