Telegram users gets options to import old chats similar to WhatsApp
Telegram is one of the most used messaging apps. This app supports stickers and GIFs, photo and video editing, and group chats that can go all the way up to 200,000 people. It’s also completely free and doesn’t contain ads.
At the starting of January 2021, Telegram has reached 500 million active users in just past 72 hours, more than 25 million new users around the world joined Telegram.
Recently, WhatsApp releases its privacy policy that can’t be taken lightly. So, millions of people are switching every day to other messaging apps in which Telegram and Signal are becoming popular among people.
Now, Telegram has silently kicked off the latest update for users (iOS and Android) that comes with a new feature. After installing this update, users can now move their old chats from WhatsApp, Line, and KakoTalk to Telegram chat.
Additionally, this update also brings a number of new functions that include the ability to delete secret chats, groups, and call history for all sides anytime. Voice Chats now appear at the top of your Call History page, and both members and admins can individually adjust other user’s microphone levels.
How to move chat:
On Android:
- Open a chat on WhatsApp or other supporting apps
- Tap on the More option
- Select export chat
- Choose the Telegram icon from the share list
- Select Telegram chat or contact where you want to move chat
On iOS:
- Open a contact or group info of chat WhatsApp or other supporting apps
- Select export chat
- Choose the Telegram icon from the share list
- Select Telegram chat or contact where you want to move chat
