Huawei Mate 50 Pro is expanding in the global market and it comes with pre-installed EMUI 13 software, however, users of this phone are facing a strange phenomenon as they upgrade to HarmonyOS 3.

The story is coming from Asia, as models of Huawei Mate 50 Pro are getting an upgrade over HarmonyOS. As noted, the Huawei Mate 50 Pro model was running EMUI 13.0.0.158 (C636E10R2P1) and received HarmonyOS 3.0.0.163 (EXPC318E1R1P1).

Interestingly, it’s experimental software that is designed for non-mainland Chinese smartphones such as Hong Kong. We’ve explored this matter once before and suggest you read the article linked below.

Why you should not install:

This is not a usual rollout and there are a few things that you should know about before you install the latest software version, specially HarmonyOS 3.

One of the major concerns is that your Huawei Mate 50 Pro could lose app compatibility with many Android apps. Once installed, HarmonyOS could make some changes to the kernel and it may not be familiar with global mobile apps.

Both EMUI 13 and HarmonyOS 3 are almost identical but it could also affect the phone’s performance because these aren’t the official HarmonyOS global builds.

We suggest you ignore these builds and check for the next EMUI 13 upgrade via the software updates section.

Huawei Mate 50 Pro:

Launched in July, HarmonyOS 3 comes with a variety of new features including smart folders with new layouts, better animations, and improved security, and privacy, while others are major optimizations made to the super device feature.

Huawei Mate 50 Pro is the first flagship to pack with HarmonyOS 3 operating system. On the other hand, Huawei also released this smartphone with EMUI 13 for global consumers.

However, the latest development could be a result of any internal error, as these phones should not be receiving HarmonyOS. Meanwhile, we haven’t heard any official word on this matter or clarification of why this is happening.
