Standard Huawei Pura 70 consists of 33 Chinese parts, highest number to date: TechInsights
A new teardown analysis by TechInsights shows that the standard Huawei Pura 70 smartphone contains around 33 Chinese parts. Compared to the other models of the same brand, this is the highest number to date with many beneficiary outcomes.
Huawei has introduced the flagship Pura 70 series as a sign of beauty and most importantly – Purity. And looks like the latest report reveals all about why the OEM has been emphasizing so much on the naturalness of the newly launched devices.
TechInsights once again performed the teardown of the Huawei Pura 70 lineup and found that the standard version includes the highest portion of the Chinese parts.
Around 33 out of 69 components in the base variant belong to China. It still runs on DDR5 memory chips from SK Hynix. In contrast to Pro and Ultra, the standard phone has the most China-made parts: says senior analyst Stacy Wegner at TechInsights.
Only five non-Chinese suppliers helped the Pura 70 series developer to create the base version while the other components of the device are still under study.
Pura 70 Pro, on the other hand, has 22 China-made parts and three non-Chinese parts so far. The Ultra model has housed a NAND memory chip from the Yangtze Memory Technologies Corporation (YMTC), which still exists in the US sanctions list.
Huawei won’t be affected by the US!
Analyzing the Pura 70, TechInsights said that Huawei aims to become self-sufficient, eliminating the dependency on the US parts. The new teardown shows the majority of Chinese components hints that foreign restrictions won’t affect the company much.
“We don’t think revoking the chipset export license will significantly impact Huawei’s smartphone business this year,” says Linda Sui (TechInsights).
A few weeks earlier, TechInsights dismantled the Pura models to inspect the Kirin chipset. With the recent teardown, the research firm highlighted the success of the Pura 70 models. It also noted that the premium devices will ship worldwide but as 4G models.
