Spark New Zealand keeps Huawei in preferred suppliers list for 5G
Spark, one of the top telecom operators in New Zealand said that it will not solely use Huawei’s 5G equipment but keep the company in its list of three preferred suppliers under a multi-vendor plan.
According to Reuters, Spark said it would kick off its 5G rollout with Nokia under the approval of the New Zeland government and as a part of the staged strategy.
Other than Nokia, Spark has kept Huawei and Samsung in the list of suppliers but not yet submitted applications for the use of their equipment.
“What we haven’t yet done, is put another application for Huawei,” Spark said. “The point at which we want to start using their equipment as part of this multi-vendor approach, we will put in another application,”.
