Some users of Huawei P30 Lite receiving only May 2021 update, excluding new apps

Early this month, the May 2021 security update has started making its way to Huawei P30 Lite smartphones along with other important features including Celia Voice Assistant and optimizations.

Since then, this update is expanding in the market and reaching Huawei P30 Lite devices. To be mentioned, the P30 Lite is one of the popular smartphones launched with a triple rear camera system.

Aside from this, some Huawei P30 Lite owners have reached us with the May 2021 update screenshots. It shows the changelog only contains security improvements and doesn’t include the new features.

Huawei P30 Lite smartphone users can found this update with EMUI 10.0.0.470 (C636E9R4P4) and brings an update package size of 123MB.

Changelog:

Security: Integrates the Android security patch released in May 2021.

May 2021 security patch details: This security update fixes different levels of exploits and issues including 3 critical, 10 high, and 4 medium levels of CVE for improved system security.

Software update notes:

  1. We recommend you take a backup of your important data.
  2. Use a stable connection to download the update package.
  3. Do not forcefully turn off the phone, once the installation is started.

STEPS TO UPDATE YOUR DEVICE:

To manually download this update via mobile Settings– open Settings > click on the System & updates > open Software update > tap on Check for updates option > (if an update is available) click on Download and install > after installation, restart the device.

Alternatively, you can download it via Support App – open Support app on your device > click on the Service tab > click on the update button> tap on Check for update option> (if an update is available) click on Download and install > after installation reboot the device.
