Some Huawei P Smart phone users receiving May update, others on June

Huawei has begun sending the May 2021 security update for Huawei P Smart 2019 (EMUI) smartphones running EMUI 10. Meanwhile, in some global markets, these smartphones are receiving June 2021 security patches.

The new May 2021 patch has EMUI 10 version 10.0.0.326 (C432E1R1P3). For your information, this updated package will require 284MB of download.

The Huawei P Smart 2019 owners can check for updates under the Settings. However, the update may or may not show up due to the staged rollout, it’ll gradually expand in the global market.

Before attempting to download the software update, the users should back up their important data, just in case. Also, they need to maintain enough battery and storage on their device.

Furthermore, the update instructions should be carefully followed (mentioned below). And lastly, use a stable connection for downloading the update package to avoid buffering.

How to check for updates

The first and easy way to download the update is via Settings. And to do that users need to head towards the Settings:

  • Search for System & updates
  • Tap on Software updates
  • Then Check for updates option
  • If found any, then click Download and install

Alternatively, you can also make use of Support app to download the new software updates. To do so:

  • Open the app and click Service tab
  • Then tap Update button
  • Now, Check for updates option
  • If found any, then click Download and install

Huawei P Smart 2019:

Huawei launched P Smart 2019 as a budget smartphone loaded with a bunch of features to satisfy a normal user. It sports a 6.21-inch display with 2340 x 1080 resolution. The device is powered by Kirin 710 processor.

The smartphone equips a dual rear camera setup with 13MP+2MP lenses and it has an 8MP camera for selfies. Furthermore, the device packs a 3400mAh battery with a Micro-USB charging port.

In terms of software, the P Smart 2019 comes pre-installed with Android 9 based EMUI 9.0 software. The other features include a fingerprint sensor, GPS, Ambient light sensor, and more.
