Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and Dimensity 9300 devices will equip 3X optical zoom as standard camera setup

Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is going to be a new flagship chipset for the premium Android devices and 3X optical zoom is going to be the standard zoom range.

According to the information, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and MediaTek Dimensity 9300 equipped models will bring 3X optical zoom telephoto capability. However, phone maker could add 5X or even more depending on their preference.

The camera section includes both optical and periscope camera systems and there is also a floating lens group for focusing in groups. There are new smartphones from OnePlus, Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, Realme, Honor, and more that are already in the pipeline to adopt this chipset.

Past information shows that Gen 3 Snapdragon 8 chipset is processed with TSMC’s N4 technology. Still, there is no official confirmation on this matter.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 also features higher clocks across the board with two Cortex-A520 cores clocked at 2.27 GHz, two Cortex-A720 cores at 2.95 GHz, three Cortex-A720 cores at 3.15 GHz, and the prime Cortex-X4 core at 3.3 GHz (and not 3.7 GHz as predicted earlier).
