Samsung One UI 5 lacks Huawei EMUI Large Folders feature

Samsung is playing One UI 5 activities for top smartphones and there are a lot of features to explore on this Android 13 adaptation but it still lacks a useful feature such as the Large folders from Huawei EMUI.

Yeah, Samsung knows innovation but the hand-in-hand relationship with Android has made it lazy. That’s how Samsung is making fewer efforts to make the One UI interesting and interactive.

Hence, this Android 13 version of Samsung One UI 5 doesn’t bring you any app management solution that competes with Huawei EMUI. Still, heavily, Samsung One UI relies on traditional app folders that don’t bring you the functionality that is required to manage the home screen app.

On the other hand, Huawei is the first in the world to bring such an easy-to-use feature that makes a big impact on app management. You just need to tap and hold an app folder, enlarge it and you can launch any app in an instant by just taping over the app icons of that folder.

Importantly, you won’t have to open that folder first.

Large Folders is now being copied by Chinese phone makers such as OnePlus, Xiaomi, and Oppo. Meanwhile, others are preparing to understand the concept so that they can also get it on their new devices.

As for Huawei, it introduced the first HarmonyOS 2 and with HarmonyOS 3, the company took gave this feature a whole new capability. As you can now reshape the large folders in different row and column layouts based on the app inside that folder.

There was a time when Samsung had its edge over other Android phone makers in terms of cutting-edge technologies but now, the South Korean firm has become worry-free. As it keeps on concentrating on new devices that aren’t irrelevant to the innovation and are unuseful in software use cases.
