Q&A 2: EMUI 10, Rollout, P40 series, HMS, AppGallery and more

We’re here with the second Q&A session about bunch of new stuff and in this article, we’ll deliver answers to some of the questions that we recently received through Twitter, Facebook, and emails.

Since most of the questions are regarding EMUI 10, we’ve added them to the top order. Followed by other questions and answers.

The Q&A as follows:

Q. Huawei P20 series EMUI 10?

A. Huawei P20 and P20 Pro will start to receive EMUI 10 in mid or late March depending on Regions/Countries.

However, the EMUI 10 for P20 devices on carriers may be different due to the different processes of the software package.

Note: Rollout may not start all together in all markets.

Q. Huawei Mate 10 series EMUI 10?

A. Huawei Mate 10 series will start to receive EMUI 10 in mid or late March depending on Regions/Countries.

Q. Huawei P30 Lite rollout

A. EMUI 10 rollout for Huawei P30 Lite is still expanding.

Q. Will my Google app disappear after the EMUI 10/Android 10 update (for older devices with GMS)?

A. Nope, nothing will happen like this, be sure to install the software package safely because update failure may cause some problems.

Q. Huawei Y9 2019 EMUI 10?

A. According to the official reply, the global version of Huawei Y9 2019 will receive the EMUI 10 but not the Indian variant.

Q. Honor Europe EMUI 10?

A. EMUI 10 for devices such as Honor 8X is already started in some EU markets. However, the official rollout to start in March.

Q. Honor UK EMUI 10?

A. EMUI 10 in the UK for Honor devices will start in March.

Q. EMUI 10 rollout is completed in China?

A. All major older flagships and models have been upgraded to EMUI 10 but there still some new models in the beta testings.

Q. Huawei P30 Pro not received?

A. Huawei is still expanding EMUI 10 rollout for Huawei P30 series and yet to reach some markets.

Q. EMUI 10 for Huawei P10 series?

A. According to Huawei, the Huawei P10 series will not receive EMUI 10 due to hardware limitations.

Q. Huawei P40 series launch date?

A. Huawei P40 series will launch on March 26 in Paris.

Q. Is EMUI 10.1 coming?

A. Similar to the last year, Huawei is expected to launch a new EMUI version with the Huawei P40 series.

Q. New Huawei will come with GMS?

A. Huawei has announced that it’s upcoming smartphones will come with Huawei Mobile Services (HMS) and its own app distribution platform – AppGallery.

Q. What’s new in the AppGallery?

A. Increased user date security, now includes both popular global applications and quality localized apps sections, introduced new wishlist feature, more optimized apps, tap and run Quick Apps

Q. When will I receive VoWiFi in India?

A. Huawei India says, the feature is under development but there’s no exact date announced by the company.

Q. Colorful Always on Display?

A. We currently don’t have any inputs on Huawei but it’ll roll out in the first quarter of 2020.

Q. How to update Mate 20 Pro to EMUI 10 in the US?

A. We recommend you try to update through HiCare or HiSuite app on the PC.

Q. EMUI 10 for Nova 3, 3i

A. These smartphones won’t receive EMUI 10/Android due to “hardware limitations as it requires higher hardware specifications for optimal performance“.

According to Huawei, these smartphones will continue to provide regular security updates.
