On June 26, Huawei attended the second day of the MWC 2024 Shanghai event and shared its views on network technology. The Executive Director of Huawei – Wang Tao delivered a speech and said that over 30 smartphones will support the 5G-A network this year.

Wang cited that the company is gradually pacing to a new network era with 5G-A. More than 60 telecom operators and partners have joined the advanced network ecosystem, They have also announced the arrival of the first year of 5G-A commercial use.

Speaking about the devices, Wang mentioned that 5G devices are ready to upgrade. Over 30 smartphones and Huawei CPEs (Customer Premises Equipment) will become compatible with 5G-A network technology this year. Consumers can look forward to a new digital wave.

Huawei is also planning to integrate AI into the latest network technology to boost digitalization. Wang says that this collision will further enhance the device experience. According to him, 5G-A will play a significant role in the AI era. The only requirement is to speed up the development and work on the rule of “Network for AI” and “AI for Network”.

“In 2024, the 5G-A commercialization and the first year of AI entry will collide with each other, ushering in the era of mobile AI and making intelligent services universal.” – says Wang Tao.

Huawei has been considering 5G-A network use for its devices for a long while. During the MWC 2024 Barcelona, Huawei Beijing Carrier Solution Sales Director – Jin Wei uttered that many phones will get the chance to adopt the 5G-A technology.
