Today, OpenHarmony Developer Conference 2024 was held in Shenzhen where the Chairman of Huawei Consumer Business – Yu Chendong gave a talk, describing how more than 2000 developers have contributed to the growth of the respective OS.
During the event, Yu mentioned that over 2000 Huawei developers have immensely supported the evolution of the OpenHarmony community. At the same time, they have provided 62 million+ lines of core code to build up the OpenHarmony platform.
The Vice President of the software sector at the Huawei Consumer Business – Liu Xiaojian says that OpenHarmony has shown rapid growth over time since its launch.
The foundation worked well to upgrade the existing capabilities and add new ones to the upcoming versions, meeting the current requirements of developers.
“OpenHarmony has achieved leapfrog development and has made great progress in ecosystem equipment, root technology, industrial chain co-construction, and influence.” – says Liu Xiaojian.
Launched by the OpenAtom Foundation in 2020, OpenHarmony is an open-source project, used to build free as well as distributed operating systems for IoT devices.
As for now, OpenHarmony has started taking a new shape and serving as the base of the world’s smart and digital interconnectivity. Note that the HarmonyOS software is based on OpenHarmony and is doing the best in the native region (China).
Thus we can expect a more whirlwind development of OpenHarmony in the future.
