Oppo comments on Huawei and its returning competition
Oppo Senior Vice President, Liu Zuohu answered a question from the media about Huawei and its growing competition in the smartphone industry. He said, “Everyone is talking about Huawei and its new phone”. However, he then shifted to Oppo to say a few words about his company “Oppo has seen many storms over the past 20 years”. Oppo chief made the latest comments after launching a new foldable smartphone – Oppo Find N3.
“I think people need to treat it more calmly” He added.
He also said that the challenge is now much more than launching just a smartphone. Liu expressed that making good products is the only way to move forward and there’s no point in thinking about others. To shed some light on Oppo’s current global status, Oppo’s chief said that the mobile industry is quite big and Oppo is also a global brand. There’s space for everyone so, people don’t need to be overly anxious about anything.
According to IDC’s second-quarter smartphone shipment record, Oppo held the most smartphone shipment shares in the Chinese market, ranking first in the tally. However, its yearly growth has declined since last year.
On the other hand, Huawei has climbed up to the top 5, which was lost after the event of 2019. Still, the new efforts from the company are just making back to the phone maker.
