One UI 7 (Android 15) could adopt an iOS 18-like lock screen media player
Samsung One UI 7.0 could feature an iOS 18-like media player UI for the lock screen. It seems the company could steal some elements from its rival OS(s) to make its new software version impressive for its users. But is it a good idea to do so?
UniverseIce noted that the One UI 7.0 may bring a new lock screen media player, similar to iOS 18. It may offer a full-screen audio controller with the music album image, just like Apple users see on their iPhone’s lock screen.
The current media player design on One UI shows a big rectangular bar on the lock screen below the time and important details. It highlights the song name with a blurred image housed in the frame.
Some controls like play/pause, a thumb-up (like) icon, as well as a shuffle mode are also present. But this might change with the One UI 7.0.
Instead of a small section, the revamped music player on the lock screen could occupy a huge space. It will give you the feel as if you have opened the music app.
The music album image may appear in a large box just like in the image below. Meanwhile, the track progress bar and other controls could appear in another tray.
Shortcuts like camera and torch may get larger icons than the previous software versions. And of course, Samsung could add its own tweaks to give a new makeover to the Galaxy phones’ lock screen.
Galaxy phone users have been demanding an iOS-like interface for a long time. Hence, it won’t be that bad if Samsung adopts at least a similar music player UI, with One UI 7.0. Yet, it would be better if these changes come in a more enhanced way.
Samsung is keenly focusing on the UI segment for its One UI 7.0. The tech giant has said to offer smoother animations and better touch-ups to the home and lock screen customizations.
One UI 7.0 beta could launch by mid-November. The company is taking all its time to make the new software stable and reliable before the release. Let’s see if Samsung launches the beta this month or shift it to December.
