October 2020 security patch rolling out for Honor Play 3e
Honor has begun sending the new update for Honor Play 3e that installs the security patch released in October 2020, which enhances the system security and fixes the different levels of exploits and issues.
Honor has launched Honor Play 3e with EMUI 9.1 and still, this device is running on EMUI 9.1. The company didn’t release the EMUI 10 major software update for Honor Play 3e.

Version: Honor Play 3e getting EMUI 9.1 version 9.1.0.180 upgraded from 9.1.0.179
Changelog: Brings October 2020 security patch that fixes 21 high levels and 1 medium level of CVE’s.

HOW TO UPDATE:
To download this update manually, go to Settings then System, then open Software update, from here select Check for updates. If an update is available it’ll pop-up on your phone and an option of Download and install will appear. Press the option and start to download.
Alternatively, you can also request software updates through the Support app. To do this, open the Support app, go to the Service tab on the bottom bar, tap on the update, then select Check for updates and then download and install.
POINTS TO KNOW BEFORE UPDATE:
- Currently, this update is rolling in China.
- The update is rolling out in batches so it may take some time/days to reach your device.
- The update will not erase any data.
