November 2020 security update rolling out for Huawei Mate 20 X 5G
Huawei has expanded the EMUI 11 beta testing program for the Huawei Mate 20 series in different regions including Europe, South East Asia, UK, and the Middle East, but the Mate 20 series doesn’t include the Mate 20 X 5G model.
However, the Mate 20 X 5G is an eligible device to get EMUI 11, but the company doesn’t reveal any information regarding the EMUI 11 beta process. Users are still waiting for their turn to test the new EMUI 11 features.
Now, Huawei has begun sending a new software update for Mate 20 X 5G users that brings the security patch released in November 2020 that improve system security by fixing different levels of exploits and issues.

REMEMBER:
- Currently, this update is rolling out in China.
- The update is rolling out in batches so it may take some time/days to reach your device.
- The update will not erase any data.
HOW TO UPDATE HUAWEI MATE 20 X:
To download this update manually, go to Settings then System & updates, then open Software update, from here select Check for updates. If an update is available it’ll pop-up on your phone and an option of Download and install will appear. Press the option and start to download.
Alternatively, you can also request software updates through the Support app. To do this, open the Support app, go to the Service tab on the bottom bar, tap on the update, then select Check for updates and then download and install.
