Nissan to reportedly team up with Huawei for smart car cockpit solutions
A new report says that Nissan is planning to team up with Huawei for its advanced smart car cockpit. The new collaboration will eventually lead to better tech solutions and capabilities for Nissan automobiles, enhancing its position in the market.
Nissan is a 50-50 joint venture between Dongfeng Motor and the Nissan Motors company. It manufactures passenger cars under Nissan and other commercial vehicles under the Dongfeng brand. Nissan Motors belongs to the Japanese market.
The latest report describes that Nissan announced to team up with Huawei for its smart car cockpit solutions. Yet it won’t be a direct collab between the two firms.
Inputs reveal that one of the two Nissan’s Chinese ventures will join forces with Huawei. Both parties will make software for the digital cockpit infotainment systems. Dongfeng Nissan cars equipped with these solutions may debut next year.
Dongfeng Nissan further states that this association makes it the first firm of its kind to take up Huawei HarmonyOS smart car solutions. It would be worth seeing how these new car techs will help the company to rise in the Chinese automobile market.
During the Beijing Auto Show in April this year, Nissan’s CEO – Makoto Uchida went to Huawei’s Booth to look for advanced smart car solutions equipped in the AITO vehicles. At that time, Huawei also unveiled the Qiankun smart car solution series.
Perhaps these solutions might have attracted the automaker and he has reportedly taken the collaboration decision.
