New WhatsApp beta shows useful notification feature for status updates
WhatsApp is rolling out a new notification feature related to the status updates section. The latest addition will inform users when to check out the unseen status by their contacts, so that you may not miss any precious moments from the app.
Spotted in the WhatsApp Android beta 2.24.8.13 version, the company is bringing a new notification feature for the status updates field. It often reminds you to check the newest or left-out statuses to remain connected with your friends and family.
A few inputs suggest that the respective notification feature can also prompt an alert on the screen after receiving a ‘mention’ in any status update, that has not been checked by the user. One may also use this feature for specific contacts.

Even though the feature is under development and doesn’t clarify how it will work, it would be a significant addition to the application. It will improve the interactivity between contacts and ultimately enhance the overall user experience.
