New Qualcomm flagship chip will have tough time beating Apple’s A17 Pro
With the launch of the iPhone 15 series, Apple introduced its brand new chipset A17 Pro, which is made with the latest cutting and edge processing technology. The new tech provides extra power to the A17 Pro on benchmark, which may not be surpassed by the upcoming Qualcomm flagship chip.
iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max recently went on Geekbench to show their test results and the results are shocking. According to the listing, the iPhone 15 Pro (mentioned as iPhone 16,1) scored 2999 points on the single-core and 7779 points on the multi-core score. On the other hand, the Pro Max model also achieved almost identical results on the benchmarking platform. The base frequency of the CPU is 3.78GHz.
Compared to this, last year’s iPhone 14 Pro with A16 achieved 2519 and 6367 points on single and multi-core respectively. The improvement in performance goes up to 20% in single-core and up to 18% in multi-core scores. What’s more interesting is that the A17’s single-core performance even outranked Apple’s M1 chip, which is used by Mac devices.
With this score, A17 Pro sets a new record on Geekbench with its latest offerings.
Qualcomm:
Qualcomm will release its new chipset in October and there are a number of Android phones ready to adopt this platform. However, it’s predicted that the new Qualcomm flagship chip may not be able to surpass A17 pro on the benchmarks and performance. Also, the unreleased MediaTek high-end chip – Dimensity 9300 may also meet the same fate.
But there’s more confirmation that we need as these two chipsets find their way toward the launch date.
