An alleged Huawei-powered SUV has appeared in spy shots and expected to launch as a tough competitor for Tesla cars (Model X and Y). While the name of this vehicle is still a secret, it could be the Luxeed S9 that has been in rumors for a long time.

Weibo blogger @SunShaojun09 shared some spy shots of the new alleged Huawei-powered SUV. The images reveal a similar design as of the STELATO S9 and AITO M9.

It carries a coupe-shaped structure with a closed roof, a 2-door passenger car, and a small interior space. The smart car is currently wearing a camouflage cover. Yet the tipster has mentioned a few key aspects of this product including price.

Starting with the design, the spotted Huawei-powered vehicle adopts a slim round shape with sharp lines throughout the exterior body, giving a heavy feel.

The vehicle seems to run on R20 wheels and integrates a Huawei LiDAR sensor. It has two thin headlines connected through a light strip and as well as LED taillight at the back. The images also exhibit a duck-tail handle to uplift the trunk part.

New Huawei-powered SUV vs Tesla?

One of the spy shots shows the alleged Huawei-powered SUV around the Tesla Model X. The scenario hints that the HarmonyOS solutions-baked vehicle could set challenges for Tesla models (X and Y) in the time ahead.

Further features of the car may include the latest Huawei ADS 3.0 and HarmonyOS smart cockpit. The leak says that the SUV is likely to get two versions: Pure Electric as well as Extended-Range with a price of 300,000 to 400,000 yuan.

The tipster says that Huawei will unveil the new smart vehicle somewhere in the second half of this year. Judging from the images, several netizens pointed out the car as a Luxeed S9 made by Huawei and Chery.

Huawei Consumer Business Unit Chairman – Yu Chengdong said that the company’s Intelligent Driving group is confident in fighting its rivals like Tesla well in the Chinese automobile market. Thus it seems the company has started readying such products in this matter.
