New Huawei Pocket flip phone is coming this year

The foldable smartphone segment will welcome new Huawei additions this year and a new Pocket flip-style device is one of them to launch later on.

Taiwanese media reveals that Huawei is preparing new Pocket series models for the second half of this year. It is amazing news for users who appreciated the first-generation – P50 Pocket and Pocket S.

For now, there are no specifications or design leaks appeared about this unreleased Pocket phone but we can expect better hardware and design aesthetics. This move will help the company to reach new sales and achieve growth in the Chinese smartphone market.

Other than that, Huawei has planned to kick off this year with a new side foldable, Mate X3. Although, the Chinese tech maker has not revealed the launch date but it could come between March and April. The phone will have the latest technologies and be powered by a new Qualcomm processor.

Huawei Pocket S:

The Pocket S sports a 6.9-inch main display with 1.07 billion colors, a p3 wide color gamut, and an OLED screen type. It supports up to 120 Hz refresh rate, 1440 Hz high-frequency PWM dimming, and 300 Hz touch sampling rate. There is a 1.04-inch cover screen with 16.7 million, a 60Hz refresh rate, a 120Hz touch sampling rate, and 340 x 340 pixels.

The flip-style foldable has Qualcomm Snapdragon 778 4G chipset with octa-core architecture (Octa-core, 4 × Cortex-A78 at 2.42 GHz + 4 × Cortex-A55 at 1.8 GHz) and Adreno 642L GPU.

Huawei Pocket S brings a dual camera system including a 40 MP super-sensing camera (f/1.8 aperture) and a 13 MP ultra-wide-angle camera (f/2.2 aperture). It could shoot photographs in various scenarios.

The modes include macro, high pixel mode, time-lapse photography, super wide-angle, large aperture blur, dual-view video, super night scene, super macro, macro video, macro picture-in-picture, and more.

Looking at the flip side, there is a 10.7-MP ultra-wide-angle f/2.2 aperture camera for selfies. The phone is packed with a 4000mAh battery that could recharge with a 40W charger.
