Huawei is about to reshape its periscope camera system with its upcoming flagship devices. We could expect this change to occur with Huawei Mate 60 series but can’t deny an early surprise.
Speaking of which, Huawei P60 Pro or Ultra model is also eligible to surprise us but we’ll have to wait to find out. Before that happens, there’s an entire lineup of smartphones that helped Huawei to achieve several milestones in the periscope technology. Check them below.
Evolution:
P30 Pro
Actually, Huawei P30 Pro was the first smartphone to feature periscope zoom. It’s not only the first in the Huawei cadre but it was also the first in the world to come with such zoom capability.
It was an 8MP telephoto camera with f/3.4 aperture and optical image stabilization. The camera brings 5X optical, 10X hybrid and for the first, it brought in 50x digital zoom. With this, Huawei also brought in Moon mode, which is later popularized among other smartphone makers.
P40 Pro+:
This was an advanced version, the P40 Pro had a 12MP super sensing telephoto camera with f/3.4 aperture with optical image stabilization. This phone kicks in the same zoom levels but with more clarity.
On the other hand, P40 Pro+ brought 8MP periscope camera (4.4 aperture) with a super zoom array and 10X optical and 20x hybrid, and 100x digital zoom. This phone also featured a 3X optical telephoto.
Mate 40 Pro+:
Looking back in time, Huawei Mate 40 Pro+ boasted the specs of the P40 Pro+’s camera.
P50 Pro:
Moving on, Huawei improved the periscope with a 64MP telephoto camera (f/3.5 aperture, OIS), and autofocus. This time, the clarity is supported with XD optics for a high-quality camera.
Mate 50 Pro:
Huawei Mate 50 Pro also used a 64MP telephoto periscope camera (f/3.5 aperture and OIS). The camera takes you into a 200X zoom range and enables 100X digital zoom.
P60 Pro:
Yes, the Huawei P series is known for its imaging and camera capabilities, and this year, Huawei will further enhance this core area of the device with best-in-the-town features. Still, we don’t have information about its true periscope camera quality but we’ll keep you posted.
