Huawei and Chinese car maker Chery are ready to introduce their first collaborative car brand – Luxeed S7, which could be equal to the electric version BMW car. The latest statement came from the company’s top official during a recent tech conference in China.

Gao Xinhua, Dean of the General Institute of Technology Research and Development said that the new brand LUXEED jointly created by Chery and Huawei is equivalent to the electric BMW.

Back in April, Chery Automobile restructured its brand into four major sub-brands including Jietu, Chery, Xingtu, and the new electric-only iCAR. Meanwhile, LUXEED with Huawei falls under the smart collaborative car business model.

Recently, China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) certified LUXEED S7. It also revealed the specifications of the device including three versions. The long version dimensions are 4971×1963, the height is 1474/1477mm, the wheelbase is 2950mm, and there is also a model of 5004x1963x1472/1461mm.

It has CATL’s lithium iron phosphate or ternary lithium + iron manganese phosphate lithium battery. Huawei has provided an electric motor for the car and a smart HarmonyOS 4 cockpit. The power of the two-wheel drive version is 215kW, and the power of the four-wheel drive version is 150/215kW.

The car has chrome-plated decorative strips, privacy glass, brake discs, brake calipers, rims, lidar, rear camera, fender trims, rearview mirror styles, and trims on the lower side of the headlights.

Currently, there’s no specific date announced for the launch of this new Chery and Huawei collaborative car but it’s confirmed to release somewhere in this quarter.
