New Baidu Maps update brings night driving mode for Huawei HiCar

Baidu Maps is receiving a new update that introduces a useful “Night Driving Mode” for the Huawei HiCar system. This feature is also compatible with the Apple CarPlay, and Vivo Jovi InCar, and offers a seamless driving experience even at night time.

According to the inputs, Baidu Maps is rolling out a new 19.3.0 version which accompanies a Night Mode for efficient driving in the dark, and Huawei HiCar users can check for the latest feature by installing the new update.

Notably, Baidu Maps already supports a prominent driving function to check traffic conditions without entering navigation or using voice inputs. However, the addition of night mode will simplify driving scenarios even at night time.

Users can use this capability via the Baidu Maps mobile app or the smart car’s infotainment screen. One can easily select the night mode from the navigation display content on the screen. Meanwhile, you get two options to enable the night mode on your phone: automatic or manual settings.

The former will automatically recommend switching between the day and night mode as per the current time and driving status. Whereas, the latter demands manual activation of the night mode. Visit My Settings > Navigation Settings > Display content.

Apart from the night mode addition, Baidu Maps also upgraded the driving feature with automatic and real-time detection of headlights on both sides of the road to prevent overspeeding and traffic accidents.

The latest Baidu Maps update is rolling out gradually for Huawei HiCar, Apple CarPlay, and Vivo Jovi InCar systems. Thus, it will take some time to reach all of the eligible users.
