EMUI
March 2021 security update released for Honor 9X smartphone
Huawei is continuously expanding the reach of its latest custom OS, EMUI 11 across the globe because without concluding this major update rollout, the company cannot freely move towards HarmonyOS for smartphones.
In between this, Huawei has some devices that eligible to upgrade over EMUI 11 but the company has not delivered this major update to them yet. Honor 9X smartphone is also one of them, which is able to work latest custom OS but status is unconfirmed.
Previously, a tipster shared a screenshot of Honor 9X that shows this device secretly running on HarmonyOS mobile developer beta, which is really surprising.
Following the tipster information, it is observed that the Honor 9X will directly be upgraded over HarmonyOS after skipping EMUI 11. Since then, no official confirmation surfaced regarding this.
In the meantime, Honor has started delivering a new software update for Honor 9X, which installs the security patch released in March 2021. This patch defends the smartphone against threats and increases system performance.
