March 2021 security improvements released for Huawei Nova 6 and Nova 6 5G

In November 2020, Huawei Nova 6 and 6 5G smartphones have fully upgraded over EMUI 11, after completing the months of beta testing. The EMUI 11 comes with a fresh user interface (UI), brand new features, and boasts the existing ones for user convenience.

Now, Huawei has kicked off a new software update for Nova 6 series devices. This update installed the security patch released in March 2021 that improves system security by fixing different levels of exploits and issues.

According to the changelog, this security note fixes 2 critical, 13 high levels, and 132 medium levels of CVEs for improved system security.

On the other hand, it was reported that HarmonyOS for mobile devices will go official in April this year and Huawei will also conclude the HarmonyOS mobile developer beta with the launch for commercial consumers.

1. Go to Settings
2. Tap on System & updates
3. Tap Software update
4. Tap Check for Updates
5. Download and Install
6. Install

After the installation and restart, we recommend you let the system optimize the new application so your device can run smoothly on further commands.

VIA SUPPORT:

You can also request this update via the Support app with the following instructions.

1. Open the Support app
2. Go to the Services tab
3. Tap on Update
4. Download and Install
5. Install

• The update is rolling out in batches so it may take some time/days to reach your device.
  EMUI version and size may vary.
