MagicOS 9.0 first beta rollout begins with new camera features

Honor is rolling out the MagicOS 9.0 first beta update for selected devices. The latest build contains significant camera features and certain effective improvements. Eligible model users will also experience seamless device performance with this update.

MagicOS 9.0 first beta update is coming with the 9.0.0.116 version. Beta users are recommended to keep at least 10GB of free storage to download the firmware.

The company opened the first closed beta recruitment right after the debut of MagicOS 9.0 on October 23. Eligible devices for this program are the Magic 6 series, Magic 5 handsets, Magic V3, Vs3, and V2 series foldable smartphones.

If you have any of these handsets then ensure the baseline build 8.0.1.173 or 172. Also, the beta update is initially approaching users who have signed up for the latest testing activity. Others need to wait for the subsequent versions, releasing in the future.

Speaking of the new beta update, MagicOS 9.0.0.116 brings a new fan-icon zoom feature and certain adjustments to the camera interface. It fixes the YOYO Suggestions and Private Space capabilities to offer an efficient user experience.

It further optimizes the Car Connect and Amap navigation to ease car-related scenarios. Users will also witness enhanced text fonts and more stable performance with this build. You can check the complete changelog below.

  • Added a fan-shaped zoom feature to improve the zoom experience.
  • Moved the video resolution adjustment feature to the upper right corner of the camera interface for easier operation.
  • Adjusted the entry position of some features like AI photography to simplify the toolbar at the top of the camera, and make the camera interface more concise.

YOYO Suggestions

  • Fixed the abnormal display issue of YOYO Suggestions weather widget in some scenarios.

Application

  • Fixed the issue where some apps still vibrate after the system vibration feedback switch is turned off.

Parallel (Private) Space

  • Fixed the issue where the Parallel Space input method could not be used in some scenarios.

Honor Car Connect

  • Optimizes the user experience of Honor Car Connect music playback and Amap navigation scenarios.

Accessibility

  • Optimize text font display effect in accessibility mode.

Performance

  • Optimize system performance to make your device’s system run more smoothly.

Stability

  • Improve system stability to make your phone run more stably.

Being a first beta update, the eligible device users might experience some issues like overheating, app freezing, battery draining, lagging, and more. Hence, proceed at your own risk. Also, we suggest a complete backup of the device beforehand.
